First Pitch

FIRST PITCH

11 UP-AND-COMING FILMMAKERS

10 ESTABLISHED PRODUCERS

2 DAYS: TRAINING SESSION + PITCHES

Description

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 AND OCTOBER 4, 2017

Location: ARRQ, 5154 RUE ST-HUBERT, MONTREAL

The First Pitch activity, formerly known as the On-on-One for Up-and-Comers, is aimed at helping and training emerging Quebec filmmakers (with less than three years of experience) in crafting winning documentary-project pitches. The activity includes a training session with acclaimed producer Mila Aung-Thwin of EyeSteelFilm, and the opportunity to pitch documentary projects in one-on-one meetings with 10 successful producers.

Participating directors will be selected based on the quality of their application.

What

  • Pitch training.

  • One-on-one pitch meetings with 10 producers.

  • Constructive criticism.

  • Acquire knowledge and tools to thrive in the documentary industry.

  • Networking and discussion opportunities.

  • Ease entry into professional circles.

New

This year, we are also accepting proposals for documentary series in order to broaden the scope of the activity and open doors in the broadcasting world for new directors. Also, one position in the First Pitch activity will be reserved for a filmmaker from a remote area.
