Film index A to Z

If Iggy Pop says so, it must be true: Sleaford Mods is “undoubtedly, absolutely, definitely, the world’s greatest rock’n’roll band.” The British duo’s primal, ferocious music has all the gruff sincerity of true punk. It’s dirty and it’s cracked, sounding every bit like the working-class England it gives a voice to. It smells like beer and sweat. It’s music for the people and, as a matter of fact, the band is getting more popular, trading dive bars for Glastonbury. Can the band’s authenticity survive success? If you already know Sleaford Mods, you know what to expect. If you don’t, you don’t have to worry: “even if you don’t fucking know it, we all know this fucking song.”
