David Lynch: The Art Life Rick Barnes, Jon Nguyen, Olivia Neergaard-Holm

Film index A to Z

David Lynch scarcely needs introduction: the cult artist with passions for coffee and meditation is unquestionably one of the most famous figures in modern culture. He is also among the most mysterious: the mind behind Eraserhead and Twin Peaks is known for his reluctance to answer questions from journalists trying to decode his works. That makes the generosity he shows in this film, shot in his home studio and including countless rare archival images, nothing less than priceless. From an ideal childhood to his first artistic efforts, to the people and experiences that fed his creativity, Lynch reveals himself as never before, showing how his work as a painter and visual artist has always been central to his life.
