In the Hocak language, “Jáaji” roughly translates to directly addressing one’s father. On the winding road of a father-son relationship, in a kind of personal road movie, the filmmaker weaves a timeless dialogue between the two. Juxtaposing sound recordings of his father with the landscapes they have separately traveled, this short helps to narrow the distance separating them. (HSB)
