The Devil's Trap Mitchell Stafiej

Film index A to Z

At 18, Lane is excommunicated by the fundamentalist Christian church he was born into, leaving him alone in the world. The Exclusive Brothers forbid members from having any contact with the outside world, including music, movies, and books other than the Bible. Although he goes on to find a community in the Canadian navy, Lane desperately wants to see his family again, even though they have shunned him for seven years. On a road trip across North America, difficult childhood memories bubble to the surface, conflicting with his nervous anticipation of seeing his loved ones. The Devil’s Trap is a breathtaking and terrifying portrait of religious fanaticism, but also a story of rebirth.
