Montreal, August 3, 2023 – Forum RIDM, presented by Netflix, is pleased to announce the new format for its Rough Cut Pitch (formerly Rough Cut Lab), which will take place as part of the 19th edition of the Montreal International Documentary Festival’s (RIDM) professional market. This revamped Rough Cut Pitch will take the form of an in-depth workshop, during which four selected teams of filmmakers and producers will have the opportunity to pitch and present a 15-minute excerpt of their film to a panel of Forum RIDM-accredited industry professionals, including festival programmers, distribution companies, broadcasters and seasoned editors.
The call for projects is open to Canadian documentary filmmakers backed by a Quebec-based production company with majority status, who have a project at the editing stage (60 minutes or more). Projects can be of any type, format or medium, and should have international distribution potential.
2023 Rough Cut Pitch eligibility criteria
Canadian filmmakers with creative documentary projects at the editing stage are invited to submit their projects before September 4, 2023 at 12 p.m. (EDT).
