Biidaaban : première lueur

In film, future visions of cities buried in vegetation have almost always had dystopian connotations. For this new virtual reality project, Lisa Jackson, working with 3D artist Mathew Borrett, brilliantly subverts the pessimism associated with the genre. In this spectacular immersion in a future Toronto, where humans and nature live in harmony once again, you are invited to interact with texts recited in the indigenous languages of the once and future Tkaronto. Presentday visitors are guided to a clearer understanding of the First Nations’ worldview, opening the door to finally imagining a future where real relationships with others and the land are possible.
