Puede una Montaña Recordar
Can a Mountain Recall is a cross between a cinematic essay and a personal diary, made by Argentinian documentary filmmaker Delfina Carlota Vazquez while she was living in Mexico. In a bid to unravel the mystery of Popocatépetl, the active volcano that looms over the city of Puebla, the director shares her personal impressions and traces the timeline of social struggles in the country. Local people believe that the eruptions are harbingers because, whenever resistance movements begin to stir, the volcano ignites. Contemplating the smoky scar that rises from the crater to the sky, this film channels both the power of nature and the power of the people. (Programming Collective)
