Dida Nikola Ilic, Corina Schwingruber Ilic

Dida

Nikola is in front of a dilemma, he’ll need to leave his new life in Lucerne and move back to Belgrade to take care of his disabled mother Dida. His grandmother, Dida’s main caregiver, is now old and frail. This heartwarming intergenerational family tale captures the soul of two charismatic Balkan women whose jubilant personalities prove to be stronger than life’s many woes and challenges. Filmed in two countries and over a long stretch of time and through an intimate lens by Nikola and wife Corina, the story is told through humour, grace and empathy. The film provides an incredible lesson in unconditional love shared between a mother and her son. (Programming Collective)
