Le labyrinthe
The narrator, a Uitoto man, recalls his past dealings with Evaristo Porras, one of Colombia’s most notorious drug lords. His memories lead us into the heart of the Amazon jungle, to Porras’ replica of the grandiose mansion from Dynasty. Combining 16 mm images of the forest with clips from the American TV series, Huertas Millán argues that the disaster of narcocapitalism is not novel, but rather replicates the violence of European conquest.
