My Two Voices Lina Rodriguez

Mis dos voces

Marinela, Ana, and Claudia are three Latin American women who immigrated to Canada. One after the other, exchanging words without engaging in direct conversation, they share their experiences, memories, and the many challenges they faced before, during, and after the immigration process. Their daily lives are captured on 16mm film. The images, shifting between the contemplative and the more personal, are superimposed on the voices, painting a picture of their resilience and the points where their journeys intersect. My Two Voices takes the form of an impressionist poem, sensitively constructed to evoke the fluctuations of the immigrant experience of Latin-American women.
