Some Kind of Intimacy Toby Bull

Une forme d'intimité

In this film, Toby Bull delivers an extremely touching message from the living to the dead. Grieving the loss of his parents, he sets himself up in front of their grave, scanning his surroundings with his camera, as if it could see into the afterlife. But what is he hoping to see? How can he communicate with them? He remains fixed there, in front of the soothing, rain-soaked, green English countryside. Toby receives a call from his brother and tries to explain the invisible to him, how he wants to see what cannot be seen anymore. What if the sheep before him are actually the guardians of the cemetery that they trample and, seemingly, actively watch over? In Some Kind of Intimacy, we understand the adage that all things return to the earth. Perhaps the experience of grief can also benefit from this saying. (Programming Collective)
