Action Item presents personal accounts of anxiety and depression using visual and audio artistic explorations that embody in a sensory way the loss of control over the senses and the difficulty of seeing and thinking clearly. Conversely, perceptible elements and thoughts become clearer in a healthy group discussion, showing the importance of taking the time to share experiences and solidarity. The testimonials insightfully invite collective reflection and action rather than a single-minded quest for individual healing from these health problems. This work is stimulating on many levels, encouraging resistance to neoliberalism and a transformation of our toxic societies that imprison us in the immobility of widespread malaise. (HSB)
