A Himalayan expedition ends in tragedy when only Yueh emerges alive after being trapped for weeks in a snowbound cave with his partner, Chun. Years later, their close friend Yi-Shan embarks on her own pilgrimage across the same mountains, carrying fragments of Chun’s letters, photographs, and his final wish to share their story. As Yi-Shan approaches the cave where her friend’s life ended, the film reflects on friendship, identity, and the endurance of love after loss. After the Snowmelt becomes both a journey of mourning and an act of remembrance, weaving together both landscape and memory, as well as transforming grief into a tender cinematic feat of connection.
