How does war make you feel? How do you interpret these new emotions when a backpack full of items that could save your life must never leave your side? And how do you share this experience with those who know nothing of it? To create this auto-ethnographic work, Anna Kravets invited strangers to spend a long time in a reconstructed shelter, reflecting with her on what it means to live in wartime. Seeking to transcend "post-invasion paralysis," these stories serve as material for an encyclopedia of the emotional states she experienced when her native Ukraine was invaded by Russia. Emotional urgency is mixed with sound composition that the artist managed to return to while recreating the normality of daily life amid wartime. (JC)
