Little Palestine, Journal d'un siège
Political activist Abdallah Al-Khatib picks up a camera to film the plight of Palestinian civilians living in Yarmouk refugee camp between 2011-2015. Trapped inside the barricades, he captures the brutal siege imposed by the Syrian regime on his home. The ‘diary’ becomes recorded documentation of the atrocities committed against the residents. Gradually left without food and medicine, Yarmouk is cut off from the rest of the world. The poignant voiceover by Al-Khatib questions how it is possible to live with dignity under such injustice. Many in the community are seen painfully undermined from hunger and fatigue, but their determination to live without fear becomes the impetus to defeat the siege. (Programming Collective)
