Nuits Diane Poitras

Nights

In Nights, Diane Poitras takes us for a visual and aural wander through the suspended space-time of night, where solitudes meet and blur together, enveloped in dreams. Darkness is where desires take shape, memories resurface, and fears are faced. Everyone coalesces around the soft dreamlike glow of the streetlamps, the routine micro-tasks of the baker, the regained tranquility of a mind in crisis, or the precious silence that holds the restless daytime at bay. In this cinematic odyssey, where artistic freedom is paired with an exploration of the night’s depths, Poitras shows us nights in which the senses awaken, stories intertwine, and imagination finds its place among the thousand poems of twilight. This screening is offered for free as part of Doc-to-doc and will be followed by a discussion with Khoa Lê (Má Sài Gòn (Mère Saigon), who programmed the film, and Diane Poitras.
