What is the Forum RIDM?
Forum RIDM, organized as part of the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM) in collaboration with DOC Québec, has been a connecting the documentary industry for 20 years. It serves as a vital gathering space for filmmakers, producers, distributors, and other professionals, fostering meaningful discussions on key industry issues and providing valuable networking opportunities.
Among the standout events of the RIDM Forum, a must-attend gathering for the documentary industry in Quebec and across Canada, are:
The first three days are dedicated to Doc Lab Montréal, a closed-circuit workshop for documentary projects in development.
The next three days focus on the professional market, featuring key events such as the Rough Cut Pitch and One-on-One Pitches. This gathering attracts over 400 documentary industry professionals from around 20 countries, all engaging in an intensive program of conferences, roundtables, networking activities, and pitch sessions.
The RIDM Forum extends its presence year-round through collaborations with festivals and cultural organizations worldwide, supporting the career development of Quebec professionals. Thanks to our various agreements, professionals were able to go to Cannes Docs, DOK.fest München, Docs MX while others were able to benefit from project development support programs such as the TaCIC-Tremplin Territoires and Talents en Vue grants.
FORUM RIDM 2024 : When is it?
The 20th edition will take place from November 22 to 27, 2024. This edition is divided into 2 parts:
• The Doc Lab Montreal which will be held in closed circuit from November 22 to 24.
• The Forum RIDM professional market which will take place from November 25 to 27.
