Forum RIDM, in partnership with TaCIC, franC doc, Bande Sonimage, Spira and Paraloeil, returns with the project development grant for emerging Quebec filmmakers.
The TaCIC - Tremplin Territoires Grant will support the development of a documentary project and provide guidance to the filmmaker throughout their creative process.
The application is open to emerging Quebec filmmakers with a short, mid-length or long-feature film.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
• Residency in a Quebec region, outside the Montreal metropolitan area (at minimum of 80 km distance), for at least twelve months.
• To have directed* a minimum of one short film of any kind, with recognized professional distribution;
• To have directed a maximum of one feature-film of any kind;
• Not have directed a feature-film that was distributed professionally and/or a documentary that received funding from a public production assistance program (SODEC, Téléfilm, NFB).
*a scheduled screening in commercial theaters; a screening by a CRTC-licensed broadcaster; a presentation at a recognized festival, with a selective programming process; a screening on a CAVCO-recognized digital platform. Public screenings without a selective process, or screenings at events or in purely corporate, school or institutional contexts are not recognized as professional screenings.
The recipient of the TaCIC - Tremplin Territoires Grant will benefit from:
• Forum RIDM 2024 accreditation, giving access to all professional market activities (excluding One-on-One Pitches), offered by franC doc ;
• Financial assistance of 500 $ to support the production and development of the documentary project, offered by franC doc ;
• Financial assistance of 500 $ to support the production and development of the documentary project, offered by Bande Sonimage ;
• Production and development advice to perfect the production of the documentary project, offered by franC doc (1 000 $ value) ;
• Advice on creative filmmaking vision, offered by Bande Sonimage (1 000 $ value)
• Advice on the best distribution strategies, offered by Spira, Bande Sonimage or Paraloeil, at the recipient’s discretion (1 000 $ value) ;
• Rental of filming equipment, access to post-production room and/or DCP encoding for a total value of 10 000 $, available from one of the following partners : Paraloeil, Spira or Bande Sonimage ;
• Support and contact with all partners, to benefit from a network of support and resources to guide the documentary process, offered by TaCIC.
*This grant intended exclusively to support the development of the project submitted at the time of application and is valid for 36 months from the award date (November 27, 2024)
