TaCIC - Tremplin Territoires Grant

Application: from August, 13 to September 10, 2025

 

Forum RIDM is proud to announce the return of the project development grant for emerging filmmakers based in Québec’s regions. Offered once again in collaboration with TaCIC, franC doc, Bande Sonimage, Spira and Paraloeil, the grant is specifically designed to support emerging documentary filmmakers working outside major urban centres. This year, two new partners are joining the initiative: socialT and Microclimat Films.

Entitled the TaCIC – Tremplin Territoires Grant, the program will provide concrete support for the development of a documentary project, while guiding the filmmaker throughout each stage of the creative process.

The call is open to emerging Quebec-based filmmakers

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.

  • Reside in a region of Québec, located at least 80 km outside the Montreal metropolitan area, for a minimum of twelve months.

  • Have directed* a minimum of one short film of any genre with recognized professional distribution. 

  • Have directed a maximum of one feature-film of any genre.

  • Not have directed a feature film that was professionally distributed and/or a documentary that received funding from a public production assistance program (SODEC, Telefilm, NFB).


    a scheduled screening in commercial theaters; a screening by a CRTC-licensed broadcaster; a presentation at a recognized festival, with a selective programming process; a screening on a CAVCO-recognized digital platform. Public screenings without a selective process, or screenings at events or in purely corporate settings, school or institutional contexts are not recognized as professional screenings.



The recipient of the TaCIC - Tremplin Territoires Grant will benefit from:

  • Forum RIDM 2025 accreditation, giving access to all professional market activities (excluding One-on-One Pitches), offered by franC doc.

  • A $100 financial contribution offered by Microclimat Films.

  • Project development support and guidance in preparing funding applications, offered by Social T (valued at $1,500).

  • A $500 financial contribution to support the production and development of the documentary project, offered by franC doc.

  • A $250 contribution to support the development of the project, awarded by TaCIC.

  • Creative directing advice offered by Bande Sonimage (valued at $1,000).

  • Distribution advice offered by Paraloeil, Spira, or Bande Sonimage, at the winner’s choice based on their needs.

  • Rental of filming equipment, access to a post-production room and/or DCP encoding services valued at a total of $10,000, available at the winner’s choice from one of the following providers: Paraloeil, Spira, or Bande Sonimage.

  • Support and networking with all partners to provide a network of resources and guidance throughout the documentary journey, offered by TaCIC.


This grant is exclusively intended to support the development of the project submitted at the time of application and is valid for 36 months from the award date (November 26, 2025).

 

HOW TO APPLY

All applications must be submitted through the call for applications form, combining the elements listed below into a single PDF file:

• letter of intent;

• curriculum vitae, including your filmography;

• a short description of your project (3 pages max.).

 

The deadline for applications is September 10, 2025.
The result will be announced in the first week of October 2025.
