TaCIC – Tremplin Territoires Grant

Application period: August 24–September 21, 2026

 


Forum RIDM is proud to announce the return of the TaCIC – Tremplin Territoires Grant, designed for emerging documentary filmmakers based in Québec's regions. Offered in collaboration with TaCIC, franC doc, La bande Sonimage, Paraloeil, Spira, Social T and 411films, the grant aims to support the next generation of documentary filmmakers working outside Montreal. This year, five new partners are joining the initiative: MÖ FILMS, Saint-Fortunat Films, Les Films de La Baie, Peartree Productions and Microclimat Films.


The TaCIC – Tremplin Territoires Grant provides practical support for the development of a short-, medium-, or feature-length documentary project. This support is offered by established organizations in the film industry and covers every major stage of production and distribution. The grant also includes a cash prize of $2,800. The call is open to emerging filmmakers based in Québec’s regions.

 

 
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

  • Have resided in a region of Québec located 80 km or more from Montréal for the past 12 months at least.

  • Have directed at least one short film that has received professional distribution*.

  • Have directed at most one feature film.

  • Not have directed a feature-length documentary that has received professional distribution* and/or public funding (SODEC, Telefilm Canada, NFB).

 

*a scheduled screening in commercial theaters; a screening by a CRTC-licensed broadcaster; a presentation at a recognized festival with a selective programming process; a screening on a CAVCO-recognized digital platform. Public screenings without a selective process, or screenings at events or in purely corporate settings, school or institutional contexts are not considered professional screenings.

 

CONTENTS OF THE GRANT

 

The recipient of the TaCIC – Tremplin Territoires Grant will receive:

  • A Forum RIDM 2026 accreditation, giving access to all professional market activities (excluding the Face-à-Face), offered by franC doc.

  • Project development and funding application support, offered by Social T.

  • Mentorship on creative directing, valued at $1,000, offered by La bande Sonimage.

  • Distribution consultation, offered by Paraloeil, Spira, or La bande Sonimage, depending on the recipient's needs and preference.

  • Production equipment rental, access to a post-production suite, and/or DCP encoding services, with a total value of $10,000, offered by Paraloeil, Spira, or La bande Sonimage, depending on the recipient's needs and preference.

  • Introductions to all of the grant's partner organizations, providing access to a network of support and resources to guide the project's development, offered by TaCIC.

  • Mentorship on executive production, offered by Microclimat Films.

 

The recipient will also receive a cash prize of $2,800 to support the development of their project, made possible through the following contributions from our partners:

  • $500 from franC doc

  • $500 from 411films

  • $500 from MÖ FILMS

  • $500 from Saint-Fortunat Films

  • $250 from TaCIC

  • $250 from Les Films de La Baie

  • $200 from Peartree Productions

  • $100 from Microclimat Films

 

Applicants who are not selected will receive, upon request:

  • A 20% discount on the purchase of a RIDM + Forum Pass.


Note: The TaCIC – Tremplin Territoires Grant is intended exclusively to support the development of the project submitted. Its benefits are valid for 36 months following the presentation of the award, which will take place on November 25, 2026.



HOW TO APPLY

 

For applications, the form will be available from August 24.

The deadline for applications is Monday, September 21, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (EDT).

Applicants will be notified by the end of October 2026.. The recipient will be publicly announced on November 25, 2026, during the Forum RIDM awards ceremony.
