Forum RIDM is seeking applications from Canadian producers interested in international co-production. Three (3) people will be selected to participate in select professional activities at the Marché du Film, Cannes’ professional film market, from May 17 to 21, 2024.
The product of a partnership between Telefilm Canada and Cannes Docs, this call aims to foster professional and creative development between Canadian producers and their international counterparts, and to encourage cultural and professional exchanges, particularly in documentary co-production.
We're looking for experienced film producers with a genuine passion for creative auteur documentaries, with an authentic artistic approach and an active involvement in the filmmaking process. Furthermore, they must have the ability and ambition to position themselves firmly in the European market and on a global scale.
Selection Criteria

Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Must have (or be affiliated with) a production company based in Canada.

Must be available to attend Cannes from May 17 to 21, 2024.

Must have produced between one and three creative feature-length documentaries that have been screened in theaters and/or significant film festivals (national, regional, or international).

Must have at least one creative feature-length documentary project in development with international potential.
Dates and Activities
Attendance at Cannes is required from May 17 to 21, and those selected will benefit from:

Priority access to the entire Cannes Docs program (one-on-one meetings and group consultations with industry representatives, workshops, panels, social events, etc.).

Key visibility on the Cannes Docs website and social networks.

Numerous networking opportunities to connect with leading festivals and sales agents, documentary film producers and select experts, as well as hundreds of film industry professionals.

Presentation of your production company as part of the Co-Pro Social Club sessions.

Critical learning and deepening of essential market navigation skills and networking know-how in the global industry.
Offer Details

A personalized pre-event session with an expert to prepare participants for navigating the international co-production market and Cannes Docs in general (virtual).

One accreditation giving access to all Marché du Film activities and screenings, as well as to the entire Cannes Film Festival program.

Selected applicants will be invited to apply to Telefilm Canada's International Promotion Program for a travel grant to support their participation in the Marché du Film.
