21st annual Montreal International Documentary Festival: coming this November!

Montreal, July 11, 2018 - The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) is back for its 21st annual edition from November 8 to 18 this year. A look at some of the films in this year’s program is coming soon, but first the festival is pleased to unveil its new visual identity and the venues for this year’s event.

New visual identity

A new year means a new visual identity. Once again this year the festival worked with Montreal-based graphic design studio Caserne. To follow up the special 20th anniversary edition in 2017, the aim of the 2018 poster is to highlight the festival’s strengths. The resulting graphic features a large-scale version of the logo, the “RIDM yellow” that underpins the organization’s identity, and the return of the slogan Là où toutes les histoires se rencontrent/Where all stories meet, which encapsulates the festival’s ambitions. Follow us on social media for more: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Festival venues

The festival’s headquarters will once again be the Cinémathèque québécoise, a central location that can accommodate a wide variety of activities: screenings, the UXdoc space, parties, special events, reception and ticketing, and the professional activities of Doc Circuit Montréal, the RIDM’s documentary forum. The Cinémathèque’s central location makes for a better public experience and provides a space where everyone, festivalgoers and guests alike, can get together.

This year’s screenings will also be presented at the Cineplex Odeon Quartier Latin, Cinéma du Parc and in the Henry F. Hall Building and J. W. MC Connell Library Building at Concordia University. These venues will be familiar to returning festivalgoers.

In August, the festival will release some details of this November’s programming.

Quebec’s only film festival dedicated to documentaries, the Montreal International Documentary Festivalpresents the best reality‐based films, including the works of established directors and new talents.

The 21st annual RIDM will take place from November 8 to 18, 2018
