The Opening and Closing films of RIDM 2025

The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) is proud to announce the opening and closing films of its 28th edition, which will take place from November 20 to 30, 2025.

To open the festival, the audience will discover Letters from Wolf Street by Arjun Talwar. This documentary paints a tender and nuanced portrait of a Warsaw neighborhood, seen through the sensitive lens of a filmmaker from an immigrant background, in search of connection and belonging. The opening ceremony will take place Thursday, November 20, at Monument-National, in the presence of filmmaker Arjun Talwa and Bigna Tomschin, editor and co-writer of the film.

To close the festival, the programming team has selected The Blueberry Blues, a collective film rooted in the heart of Lac-Saint-Jean. Andrés Livov gives voice to a diverse community, brought together around the region’s iconic fruit and its story. The closing ceremony will take place Saturday, November 29, at Cineplex Odéon Quartier Latin, with filmmaker Andrés Livov in attendance (by invitation only).
