Special screening

Beyrouth, ma ville Jocelyne Saab

Beyrouth, ma ville

In July 1982, the Israeli army laid siege to Beirut. Four days earlier, Jocelyne Saab watched as her house burned down and 150 years went up in smoke. She began to ask herself: When did all of this start? From then on, every place would become a story, and every name a memory.

This special screening of Beyrouth, ma ville, presented as a double feature with Beyrouth, plus jamais, will be introduced by filmmaker Bani Khoshnoudi.

The films are being screened in their restored versions, created from a 2K scan of the original 16 mm reversal working print and the 16 mm magnetic soundtrack preserved at the Archives françaises du film (French Film Archives).
