Doc Lab Montréal 2024
This Forum RIDM initiative, presented by Warner Bros. Discovery Access Canada, renews its mandate to further propel inventive projects that are important to us. Over the years, the event has reinvented itself to consolidate its position as an essential opportunity for professional and creative development. This renewed formula will enable international participants to take part in this flagship event in a closed-circuit format. In addition, groups of filmmakers and producers with feature film projects will have the unique opportunity to present their projects at a pitch session in front of an audience of seasoned professionals from national and international markets.
Led by local and international industry professionals from the Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) and Forum RIDM, Doc Lab Montreal will welcome a group of Canadian and international filmmakers and producers with short, medium or feature-length documentary projects, to help them develop their creative projects, artistic practices and production strategies. For the first three days, selected participants will benefit from closed-circuit group work sessions. Following the mentoring, participants will benefit from activities organized during the last three days of the Forum RIDM: master classes, discussions about documentary creation and production, and networking activities designed to enrich and complement Doc Lab Montréal's programming.
Call for Canadian projects
The call for Canadian projects for Doc Lab Montréal is scheduled for July 2024.
** This call for projects is open to Canadian applications only. International participants will be selected through separate processes.
Call for international projects
The participation of international teams in Doc Lab Montreal is the result of collaborations between the Forum RIDM and several international partner organizations, and thanks to the financial support of the Government of Quebec, the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications and the Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie.
