For this new edition of the One-on-One pitches, the matchmaking rules are evolving. We now invite you to use a new platform designed in concordance to the needs of Forum RIDM, in order to optimize the experience. Participants (project holders and industry representatives) will now have an active role in choosing and visualizing meetings in real time.
For over 10 years, this flagship activity of Forum RIDM has facilitated professional meetings between industry decision-makers on a national and international scale, benefiting documentary projects led by producers (or self-produced filmmakers). It is a unique opportunity for projects seeking funding and visibility to encounter pivotal opportunities for their future development.
Thanks to these meetings , documentary project holders (producers and/or filmmakers) will have the chance to present their projects to renowned professionals from Canada and abroad during 15-minute, speed-dating-style sessions.
The most influential international figures in the documentary sector will be present: public and private broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, festival and market programmers, institutions, fund representatives, and co-producers.
You can view this year industry representatives list.
Please note that this list will be updated daily. To follow its real-time progress, we also invite you to follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
The 2024 edition of the One-on-One pitches will be held in person on Wednesday, November 27, at the Salle Polyvalente at UQÀM from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
How it Works
IMPORTANT: THE RULES FOR THIS YEAR HAVE CHANGED!
Once your registration is valid, meeting requests will be in both senses:
• Project leaders can request meetings with industry representatives.
• Industry representatives can request meetings with project leaders.
Forum RIDM team will also play an active role in the matchmaking process to ensure a suitable number and quality of meetings based on agendas, project criteria, and participant profiles. Forum RIDM may suggest and/or assign relevant meetings between project holders and industry representatives. Please remember that honouring meetings is crucial for the smooth running of the event.
Please note that the total number of assigned meetings may vary depending on the availability of industry representatives.
Who Can Register?
• Producers with documentary projects of any format and at any stage of creation.
• Filmmakers with a producer attached to their documentary project (or self-produced) of any format and at any stage of creation.
• Participation in pairs is possible**
