Written in collaboration with the actors and actresses who play characters bearing their own names, this film—shot in Taipei—creatively interweaves several stories. A film crew, occasionally appearing on screen, is filming their actions, as well as a documentary about a street-food restaurant owner originally from Istanbul. Linked by an enigmatic flower, these sometimes-bewildering characters move somewhere between dreams and invention, unfolding a complex meditation on love and pain, and, more broadly, on human relationships and fate. This captivating, playful hybrid work of fiction embraces a remarkable formal and aesthetic freedom, shifting between perspectives to dissolve the boundary between fiction and reality in revealing ways.
