High in the Alps, Hana, a young Lebanese woman, works as an apprentice shepherdess, living in a solitude that seems at once chosen and imposed. Far from the mountains of home, she tends her flock while carrying the invisible weight of exile and memory. The arrival of Lisa gently disturbs her withdrawal, while encounters with migrants crossing the mountains awaken questions of belonging, departure and return. As time unfolds, the distance between the life Hana inhabits and the one she has left behind begins to shift. What was once held as a distant longing takes on the shape of something that might still be reached: the Lebanese mountains, and all that they hold for her. Moving between documentary intimacy and quiet fiction, the film becomes a meditation on human geography and the places we carry within us. (ME)
