Three months before her death, Jocelyne Saab invited filmmaker Mohanad Yaqubi to collaborate with her. This invitation went unanswered, birthing a film in the form of a letter, spun from the archives of the prolific Lebanese director. By reviving this precious legacy, the filmmaker engages with a decade of films made between 1973 and 1983, documenting the wars, exiles and resistance in Lebanon, Palestine, Iran and Western Sahara. Jocelyne Saab reveals the human cost of cycles of violence on women, men and children, through powerfully moving images. Revolutionaries Never Die pays homage to a dedicated filmmaker whose perspective humanizes those whom the world’s atrocities often condemns to silence. (MB)
