Somewhere in Quebec, hunters isolate themselves in hunting blinds, all but disappearing into their surroundings. For hours they wait, camouflaged. Time is drawn out, and their senses are heightened by the diversity and richness of the nature around them. From their hideouts, they allow their minds to wander across the stunning natural landscapes before them, allowing them to find a deep connection within themselves. In an observational film with a rich soundtrack, documentary maker Nicolas Paquet crafts careful, unhurried shots. These he overlays with the intense and candid words of the hunters, who describe their usual processes and the healing, even therapeutic, experience they find in blind hunting. (MB)
