In this personal film, Olivia Ikey explores the challenge of helping her child thrive through a cultural legacy marked by beauty but also burdened by a history of trauma. Ikey draws on the sensitivity of her 10-year-old daughter, Navarana, to take her to visit her home village of Kuujjuaq, where the dual responsibilities of healing and remembrance come together. Despite memories often marked with grief and violence, Ikey remains focused on the hope promised by the future. Her resilience draws its strength from the community, enabling mother and daughter to face life with confidence and dignity. Through a camera that captures human intimacy, the vastness of the land and its magnificent landscapes, Ikey turns this learning process into a celebration in its own right. (OM)
