Sky Hopinka: Redefining potential territories

maɬni – towards the ocean, towards the shore Sky Hopinka

This film follows Sweetwater Sahme and Jordan Mercier’s wanderings both physical and spiritual. Speaking mainly in Chinuk Wawa, they share thoughts and beliefs about environment, culture, transmission, identity, life, and the afterlife, pointing to a contemporary perspective anchored in the Chinookan origin-of-death myth. With an inspired artistic vision, Sky Hopinka’s debut feature film is a masterful work imbued with sincere respect. (HSB)

This film is presented as part of the retrospective Sky Hopinka : Redefining Potential Territories.
