Margo, an aspiring actress, sees her life slowly crumble around her: her friends turn their backs on her, her lover ignores her, and her next film project is in danger of being abandoned. Isolating herself in her solitude in Portugal, she is confronted with her expectations and must learn to trust again. Tout sur Margo is a mesmerizing autofiction that plays with the codes of documentary, produced with the unique authenticity of modest means. In the style of Frances Ha, this film intimately explores a sincere but disappointed young performer’s quest for meaning. Under the guise of spirituality, fine reflections on friendship and the power of creation creep into the story, moving beyond fiction to a very real awareness. (SC)
