In the shadows of a darkroom, filmmaker Celeste Rojas Mugica and her father Lucho develop the photographs he captured as an opponent of the Pinochet dictatorship. Taken in secret, fragments of life emerge, vibrant and imbued with an urgent beauty. Carried along by the intensity of these images, the filmmaker makes the frozen faces speak; gives life to the movements etched on the film; and describes, revives, or reinvents the richness of a complex story candidly captured. Between maieutics and reverie, the complicity between Celeste and her father allows An Oscillating Shadow to unfold as a captivating sensory journey where the intimate and the political are finely interwoven.
