In Abidjan, those who dream of emigrating to Europe or North America knock on the door of an immigration consulting firm. In this antechamber to elsewhere where the grass can only be greener, aspirations to leave come up against the reality of complex, narrow administrative procedures that allow only a lucky few to fall on the right side of often arbitrary decisions. To support them in this uncertain undertaking and best prepare them, the immigration firm uses everything at its disposal. Campus Monde doesn't fail to highlight the business of emigration, which thrives on the fabrication of dreams and benefits future host countries. But really, why leave? (MB)
