Entretierra Emanuel Licha

Since the start of Mexico's “war on drugs” in 2006, it is estimated that over a hundred thousand people have disappeared. Entretierra gives voice to the relatives of the missing who are organizing to try and find them. Faced with the inaction and complicity of the Mexican government, these families are banding together, taking matters into their own hands and developing their own expertise in the hope of finding their loved ones, whether they are still alive or not. Their voices are heard against a black backdrop, interspersed with evocative images of excavation sites, creating a sober aesthetic and soundscape that leaves plenty of room for their determination and pain.
