A retired wildlife documentary narrator enjoys watching the world through webcams streaming their content over the Internet. While animals hold virtually no secrets for her, the removal of a kidney stone triggers the desire for a surprising investigation into rocks, previously relegated to the edges of her expertise and interests. This documentary, featuring a detective, geologists, a painter from the volcanic island of Fogo in Cape Verde, and Palestinian stonemasons, examines a vast territory and explores a complex, playful reflection on these minerals capable of revealing the planet's past and transforming its present. In a blend of science and humour, this essay takes us on a sinuous and complicit journey, unlocking a fascinating view of the world in the age of the Anthropocene. (HSB)
