In the middle of summer, two young brothers roam the fields around their grandmother’s home, playing among fruit trees, hills and farm animals. When their play is interrupted, the landscape takes on the quiet presence of what is no longer there. Together, they watch family archives of their late grandfather, shot years earlier by the filmmaker, the past suddenly becoming tangible. The boys’ spontaneous gestures and their grandmother’s quiet tenderness reveal grief not as an absence, but as something shared and carried forward. Moving between intimate observation and the fragile texture of past images, the film turns the rural landscape into a living space of memory. In the film’s final gesture, the grandmother and grandchildren pick mushrooms in the fields, reviving a ritual once shared with their grandfather, allowing his presence to live in the simple act.
