Under-the-Camera Animation Screening and Workshop
La Lumière Collective presents a program of short films by artist and filmmaker Alisi Telengut, followed by an experimental filmmaking workshop for 5 to 17 year-olds. After a half-hour screening, participants will take part in a playful, hands-on workshop exploring animation with simple materials like oil pastels and found objects. Working in small groups, they will create moving images directly under the camera, building animated landscapes frame by frame on a single surface. Every detail will be part of the final work, and mistakes will be welcomed as part of the process.

Images from a not-so-distant past… Images in repetition of a painful present. Scaffold is a 2-channel installation first shown in 2012, at a time when reforms and attempts at civil construction were still options on the table in post-revolutionary Iran. In 2026, this past blends into a present marked by the endless, desperate attempts by the population to cry out for change, each time met with bloodshed and systematic violence, sacrificing the youth to ideology that has all but failed its goals.
This installation is presented as part of the Retrospective Bani Khoshnoudi: Territories of Memory.
