Local documentaries premiere at RIDM

Montreal, Friday, November 8, 2024 – The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) is proud to present the premieres of the most recent works by both acclaimed local filmmakers as well as rising new talents. In keeping with its mission to support and promote auteur documentary filmmaking in Quebec and Canada, RIDM is once again setting itself apart as a premiere platform for these works, with a selection of 58 national films presented this year.

In collaboration with Télé-Québec, partner of the Doc-to-Doc screenings, RIDM presents five award-winning films from recent years on the telequebec.tv platform: Aswang by Alyx Ayn Arumpac, Veranada by Dominique Chaumont, Une femme, ma mère (A Woman, My Mother) de Claude Demers, Knit’s Island by Ekiem Barbier, Guilhem Causse and Quentin L’helgoualc’h, and Au-delà des hautes vallées (Far Behond the Pasturelands) by Maude Plante-Husaruk and Maxime Lacoste-Lebuis. This is a unique opportunity to discover or revisit these memorable films, now available for free across Quebec until December 1st.

 

The 27th edition of RIDM will take place from November 20 to December 1st, 2024.

at the Cinémathèque québécoise, Cineplex Odéon Quartier Latin, Cinéma du Musée, Cinéma du Parc, Cinéma Moderne, National Film Board of Canada, BAnQ and Théâtre Outremont.
