This film is intended as a letter to Sita Valles, an Angolan doctor and revolutionary of Goan origin. Joining the ranks of Sanzgiri’s previous works, An Impossible Address looks at solidarity and the anticolonial struggle shared by the peoples colonized by Portugal, in this case, primarily Goa and Angola. With a renewed visual and sonic exploration, this innovative film fruitfully combines various archival documents, 3D scans and film. Filmmaker Suneil Sanzgiri adeptly uses different techniques to chemically and manually alter the film, revealing the physical material of cinema, questioning the possible, and pushing the limits of images and words, and more generally, artistic creation and resistance.
