Fragments of Super 8 films from the filmmaker's family archives come together to create a landscape of memories where images intersect and merge. A mountain echoes a face, the sun answers the sky, an eye emerges from the waves. Through these visual associations, the absent presence of Sara, the filmmaker’s great-grandmother, gradually takes shape. Her gaze becomes a recurring motif, a path to follow. A distant, almost buried song mingles with the drone of a cello; its deep vibrations move through the images, creating connections between places and time. Between Palestine and elsewhere, between what remains and what has vanished, searching for sara explores family memory and the possibility of finding, within images, traces of an absent woman. (NBB)
